Gender Stereotypes: Forget the Pink is for Girls and Blue is for Boys

As babies and toddlers my daughters had trains, trucks  Legos and blocks as well as dolls and mini-kitchenettes to play with.  My elderly in-laws found it somewhat unusual but joined the girls on the floor, happily creating Lego structures.    I can’t remember why I felt so strongly that they be exposed to playthings long considered “boy” toys.
