On her drive home from school with her mom, my 6 yr. old granddaughter was discussing her upcoming 1st grade field trip to a local nursing home. Excitedly she told her mom how they planned to play games and read books with some of the home’s residents.
Seriously she explained to her mom; “Mrs. S. (her teacher) told us: if there is an older person sleeping in a chair, we shouldn’t go up to them and yell WAKE UP!!!! …..so I won’t do that.”
Her mother: “Ummmm, yup……that would be a good idea.”
