Texting With Boomers

love texting

Texting and relationships.  Personally, I love it. I’m not saying it should replace other forms of communication, but I definitely feel it enhances ones options.  Our kids are averaging jaw-dropping numbers of daily texts.  They’re maintaining long distance relationships and breaking up with each other via text messaging.  Could we have dreamed of such a thing?  Granted, Boomers invented text messaging…remember passing notes in study hall?  There you go! Ease is the priority for my youngest daughter.  As the mom

The Return of the Pogo Stick, A Baby Boomer Favorite

Retro Toys? I can’t say that I excelled in many athletic endeavors, however in the late 50′s I was pretty good at Pogo-ing if I do say so myself. This toy brought back great memories of hopping around our driveway with the guh-billion neighbor kids all begging for a turn. I was surprised to see that they’re still around.  Wondering if my grandkids would enjoy it as much as I did, I was shocked 2 days after I wrote this

Baseball Cards?  How about sparkly rocks? You might begin with a joint meeting to define something that’s interesting to the child.  If he or she isn’t passionate or at least showing some curiosity, this collection idea is going nowhere.   Next you’ll want to consider the price, how much space the collection

Flower Lovers: A Video You’ll Watch Over and Over

bedford

Buying flowers for myself on a weekly basis, has now become something my husband looks forward to.  Go figure. I’m crazy about flowers and a friend sent me a link to this video and I can’t help but share it with you. I’m sending it on to my granddaughters because I’m pretty sure one of them for sure has inherited my flower “bug.”  Maybe you’ll want to do the same after you watch: La Vida de las Flores.   While you’re

Where Did My Hula Hooping Mojo Go?

hula hoop

Aggravated is often the emotion I feel when I hear the younger generation messing with a classic Boomer song.  Attentive is how I feel about the younger generation improving upon our beloved Boomer Hula Hoops.  I bought one (it wasn’t “weighted”) and let me tell you, it’s NOT like getting back on a bike.  My hooping skills are hiding. It seems the hooping of the 50″s has nothing to do with the hooping of today, where you’ll find Hoop Dance,
