Boomer Grandparents was created to provide a sharing place for Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1960) who are experiencing the joys and challenges of grandparenting in this high-tech world.
My grandchildren are in Wisconsin, and I’m in northern California. For the 1st 4 yrs. of #1 granddaughters life she lived in the same city as her paternal grandparents, and was able to spend alot of quality time with them. Flowers are special to grandmothers, daughters, AND granddaughters. Surprise that special grandchild with her (or his) 1st bouquet!
As babies and toddlers my daughters had trains, trucks Legos and blocks as well as dolls and mini-kitchenettes to play with. My elderly in-laws found it somewhat unusual but joined the girls on the floor, happily creating Lego structures. Discipline and grandchildren. Touchy subject? Who makes the call when the grandparents are visiting? How about when the kids are at grandma and grandpa’s house? Choosing a toy for my grandchildren is always a challenge. As a “Far Away” grandparent, I don’t have the luxury of being with them weekly or monthly to observe them playing.
